How to Fish Desert Walkthrough

Desert progression is a choice followed by a fixed chain: trade any one accepted creature for the Carrot, use it for Pufferfish, then turn in Pufferfish Fin to unlock Rocks.

Secret catches and completion content are optional and separated from the Rocks route below.

How to Get the Carrot

Give the Desert Pufferfish NPC any one accepted creature and collect the Carrot reward. There is no single mandatory species in this step.

How to Trigger Pufferfish

The Carrot reward is the confirmed direct Boss bait. The accepted creature earns the Carrot; it does not directly replace the Pufferfish trigger.

BEFORE

Complete one accepted-creature trade

Give one valid creature to the Pufferfish NPC and collect the reward.

TRIGGER

Use Carrot

Use the Carrot as the direct Boss bait rather than a normal lure.

SUCCESS

Pufferfish encounter begins

The required Desert Boss appears and can be defeated for its Fin.

Defeat Pufferfish

Complete the encounter after the Carrot trigger succeeds, then collect Pufferfish Fin. Detailed attacks, equipment, solo advice, and fight strategy stay in the focused Boss guide.

POST-BOSS PROGRESSION

What to Do After Pufferfish

Defeating Pufferfish is not the final Desert action. The Fin and completed quest interaction carry the progression state to Rocks.

  1. STEP 1

    Defeat Pufferfish

    Finish the required Desert encounter.

  2. STEP 2

    Collect Pufferfish Fin

    Keep the confirmed progression drop.

  3. STEP 3

    Turn in the Fin

    Return the drop to the Pufferfish NPC quest chain.

  4. STEP 4

    Claim the interaction

    The completed quest interaction registers the Rocks unlock.

EXPECTED RESULT

Rocks becomes available after Pufferfish Fin is turned in and the completed quest interaction is claimed.
