COMBAT MECHANICCHECKED FOR PATCH 1.0.10

How to Fish Killscore Guide

Killscore multiplies compatible bonuses active on the same qualifying kill. Build five other bonuses to activate Impressive ×2 automatically, or check the exact action rules when a trick does not register.

CORE MECHANIC

How Killscore Works in How to Fish

Killscore is a multiplier, not a points bar in the verified production model. Each compatible bonus contributes a multiplier to the same qualifying kill.

  1. 1

    Start a target

Prepare the creature and the conditions your planned actions require.

  2. 2

    Perform qualifying actions

Actions must satisfy their own timing, distance, damage, or state rule.

  3. 3

    Resolve compatibility

Scope, distance, and aerial categories each have mutually exclusive choices.

  4. 4

    Apply one multikill rung

The three-second window contributes only its single matching rung.

  5. 5

    Activate automatic bonuses

Five other bonuses activate Impressive; zero style bonuses activate Noob Kill.

  6. 6

    Apply the final multiplier

Compatible multipliers are multiplied for the qualifying kill and value relation.

Do not add the displayed numbers.

For example, 360 ×1.5 and No Scope ×1.2 produce 1.8× because the active bonuses multiply.

RELIABLE VERIFIED COMBINATIONS

How to Reach a 5x Killscore Multiplier

These are rule-valid combinations, not promises that every target or weapon can satisfy every condition. Prepare all five actions before the killing blow so Impressive activates.

360 ROUTE

  1. 1.360
  2. 2.No Scope
  3. 3.One Shot One Kill

  1. 1.Longshot
  2. 2.Headshot
  3. 3.One Shot One Kill

FINAL-HIT QUALIFICATION

How Trick Shots Work

The production rules do not define one generic “Trick Shot” bonus. They evaluate named conditions such as 360, scope state, distance, aerial state, damage type, and killing-hit properties.

360 NO SCOPE QUICK GUIDE

Make both states active on the kill

ROTATION
320°+
RECENT WINDOW
1 second
SINCE ADS
0.25 seconds
  1. 1. Prepare the creature so the next qualifying hit can kill it.
  2. 2. Stay outside aim-down-sights long enough for No Scope.
  3. 3. Rotate through the threshold and kill inside the recent rotation window.

QUALIFICATION BOUNDARIES

What Counts Toward Killscore?

Counts

  • Named conditions active on the qualifying kill.
  • The single matching Multikill rung.
  • Impressive after at least five other bonuses are active.
  • Noob Kill only when no normal style bonus is active.

Does not stack together

  • No Scope and Quick Scope; No Scope takes priority in the overlapping window.
  • Longshot and Point Blank.
  • Dogfight, Aerial, and Fly Fishing.
  • Multiple Multikill rungs on the same result.

CURRENT EVIDENCE LIMIT

What Resets Killscore?

The complete reset table is not yet safe to publish.

The current production data confirms per-kill qualification and the three-second Multikill grace period, but it does not fully map miss, target-change, weapon-switch, timeout, or death reset behavior. Those events are deliberately not labeled Yes or No.

VALUE RELATION

Does Killscore Increase Fish Value?

Yes. The confirmed estimate model multiplies base sale value by the Killscore multiplier and cooking multiplier. This preview keeps cooking at ×1 so the Killscore effect stays clear.

Base value × Killscore multiplier × cooking multiplier

Estimated only: exact final sale rounding and complete modifier ordering remain unresolved.

SETUP BOUNDARY

Best Weapons for Building Killscore?

No verified weapon-to-action ranking exists in the current production data. Choose a weapon using confirmed price, damage unit, magazine, and island availability, then match the attempt to the action condition. The guide does not label one gun “best” without fire-rate, handling, and matchup evidence.
